Kabul 1

Ultima sinagoga en Kabul, Afganistan.









Se cree que los judios habitan esta region desde hace 2500 años, aunque los registros mas antiguos son del siglo XII, siendo mencionados en los escritos de Biniamin de Tudela. En 1950 habia en el pais unos 5.000 judios. La mayoria de estos emigraron a Israel, aunque un grupo considerable se estableció en Estados Unidos.
Hoy en dia queda un solo judio, Zebulun Simentov, viviendo en Kabul en el edificio de la sinagoga, quien ha considerado viajar a Israel donde ya se encuentra su familia.

It is believed that the Jews have been inhabiting this region for 2500 years, although the erliers registries are of 20th century, being mentioned in writings of Biniamin of Tudela. In 1950 there were in the country about 5,000 Jews. Most of them emigrated to Israel, although a considerable group settled in the United States. Nowadays rests just one jew, Zebulun Simentov, living in Kabul in the building of the synagogue, who has considered to settle in Israel where already is his family.

Hello, I am from Georgia. I was looking for this sinagogue for a lot of time. Now I am looking for the street where it is located. As I know, it is on the street named Flowers street.
